Milford Sound is 'must see' for all visitors to New Zealand, described as the 8th wonder of the natural world by Rudyard Kippling, Milford Sound was the original great New Zealand adventure, with visitors walking the Milford Track just to gain entrance to Milford Sound
Milford Sound is located in the Fiordland National Park, there is a small airport for light aircraft, the Visitor's Centre and the Milford Sound Lodge, there is also a small fishing fleet based in Milford Sound, with Fiordland Lobster being the main fishing species in the area.
There are no shops in Milford Sound, visitors driving to Milford Sound should ensure they have a tank of fuel
