The Hump Ridge Track can be walked independently or as a guided hike, and there are various packages available to include Helicopter assistance, pack transfers, or Jet Boat rides.
The modern huts located at Okaka and Port Craig have bunkrooms that sleep 8 people and both huts include a shop and bar facilities. All cooking equipment is provided, flush toilets, lighting, and gas heating. There are also upgrades available to stay in private rooms which include king-sized beds with linen and towels supplied, along with hot showers (extra cost).
